Industry moves

Ken Montgomery, who has been executive vice president and head of business development of Prudential Institutional Investments and Retirement Services has been named president. He succeeds Mark Fetting, who is leaving the company.

Christopher L. Bittman has been named president and chief executive officer of Jurika & Voyles, L.P., Oakland, Calif. He was previously a vice president at Jurika & Voyles, a full service investment management firm with $5 billion in assets under management. William K. Jurika, co-founder and president, has been named chairman of the board.

John W. Mitchell, a principal of M&H Economic Consultants of Portland, Ore. and an economist with U.S. Bancorp Western Region, also in Portland, has been named a trustee of Aquila Management Corp.'s Tax-Free Trust of Oregon. The Tax-Free Trust is a municipal bond mutual fund that invests in municipal securities in Oregon. Aquila is based in New York.

Katherine Tracey has joined Princeton Financial Systems' Sydney, Australia office as project manager for Princeton Financial's PAM investment management systems. Tracey previously worked in the portfolio accounting area of Chase Manhattan Bank and in the trust accounting area of Global Funds Management.

First Data Investor Services of Westborough, Mass., has promoted Fred Nadaff to senior vice president of transfer agent operations. Nadaff has been with First Data, the mutual fund, distribution and retirement services arm of First Data Corp., for nine years in a variety of transfer agent management positions. First Data Investor Services supports more than 26 million shareholder accounts.

Thomas Smith has joined Van Kampen Investments of Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., as executive vice president and general counsel.
