Mellody Hobson has been promoted from senior vice president to president of Ariel Capital Management of Chicago. Ariel's previous president and founder, John Rogers, is now chief executive officer.
Marc Cahn has been promoted to director of marketing at Scudder Kemper Retirement Services, a division of Scudder Kemper Investments of Boston. Cahn was previously director of ERISA plan services.
Brian Minturn is now chief marketing officer and Thomas Northcote is director of institutional marketing at Lindner Asset Management of St. Louis, Mo. Both are newly-created positions. Minturn has previously been with Invesco Capital Management of Denver and Fidelity Investments of Boston, and Northcote was senior vice president for marketing at Trendview Management of San Diego, Calif.
