Legg Mason Denies Breaking the Buck

U.S. money manager Legg Mason denied market rumors this week that one of its money market funds had fallen to below $1 in net asset value, commonly known as "breaking the buck."

"Apparently there were rumors going around on e-mail this morning that one of the Citi money funds broke a buck today," Legg Mason spokeswoman Mary Athridge said in an e-mail. "It's not true.”
