Money Funds Gain $3.7 Billion

Total money market mutual fund assets increased by $3.68 billion to $2.629 trillion for the week ended Wednesday, March 27, according to the Investment Company Institute.

Assets of institutional money market funds increased by $6.92 billion to $1.719 trillion. Among institutional funds, taxable government money market fund assets decreased by $410 million to $706.10 billion, taxable non-government money market fund assets increased by $8.19 billion to $933.57 billion, and tax-exempt fund assets decreased by $860 million to $79.29 billion.

Investors pulled $3.24 billion from retail money market funds, $520 million from taxable government funds, $1.21 billion from taxable non-government funds and $1.52 billion from tax-exempt funds.
