Clifford Gannett

Clifford J. Gannett currently serves as the Acting Director, Government Entities in the Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division (TEGE) of the Internal Revenue Service, and will act in this capacity until September 30, 2011. Clifford is the Director of the office of Tax Exempt Bonds (TEB) in Government Entities. Mr. Gannett previously served for six years as the head of TEB’s Compliance and Program Management office. He has been highly instrumental in establishing the Service’s Tax Exempt Bond program and encouraging post-issuance compliance through education and outreach programs, voluntary closing agreement programs, and examination activity. Mr. Gannett received his J.D. from University of Maryland School of Law and is a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland Bar.
