President and CEO

Joe Henkel was named President and Chief Executive Officer at Kleberg First National Bank in Kingsville, Texas in 1998.� He began his banking career at Kleberg Bank in 1970 while a student at Texas A&I University.� After graduation, he continued with Kleberg Bank, becoming a Vice President, before moving to the Houston area in 1978 where he served as President & CEO for banks in the Allied and First City bank holding companies.� In 1993, he became CEO of an independent bank in El Paso, Texas and served in that capacity until 1998.Mr. Henkel is a 1971 graduate of Texas A&I, now Texas A&M University in Kingsville, Texas and of the Southern Methodist University Graduate School of Banking in Dallas, Texas.� He and his wife �George� have three children.�Activities Mr. Henkel is actively involved in several civic activities, serving as a director on several boards including the Kingsville Area Industrial Development Foundation (president), Kingsville Area Economic Development Council (past president) and the Kingsville Council of the Navy League.� In 2010, he was named Chairman of the Texas A&M-Kingsville Foundation and serves as a director for several other foundations: Texas A&M Health Science Center Foundation, Coastal Bend Community Foundation, CHRISTUS Spohn Health System Foundation, H.M.
