Joel Pruis

In the commercial and small business segments, Joel Pruis brings more than 25 years of experience delivering fundamental change in the origination and ongoing management of credit relationships. In his role as Senior Director at Cornerstone, Joel is focused on commercial credit performance improvement covering policy, process, roles and responsibilities for both loan origination and ongoing customer management.Prior to joining Cornerstone, Joel was Senior Business Consultant in Experian�s Global Consulting Practice delivering policy review, decision strategies and process redesign generating significant ROI for his clients in the commercial and small business credit segments. While serving financial institutions of all sizes, Joel�s primary focus has been engaging with more than 200 financial institutions of $20 billion and less over the past 12 years.In addition to his consulting experience, Joel has more than 15 years of practical commercial credit experience in the financial industry in such roles as credit analyst, relationship manager and underwriting manager. Joel developed strong relationships with his clients delivering the traditional commercial loan products along with tax-exempt bond financing, credit swaps, international services and treasury management products.Over the past 12 years, Joel has spoken at industry conferences including the BAI Loan Review Conference, RMA Annual Conference, the Bank CEO Network, CUNA Future Forum, Fair Isaac�s Interact and the BISYS Annual Technology Conference. He has also been published in American Banker, RMA Journal and US Banker.Joel has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from Calvin College and a Master�s Degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
