Richard Scott

VP and CTO

Richard Scott, as Vice President & Chief Technology Officer of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, is responsible for the technology strategy of Guardian, as well as overseeing all aspects of the technology architecture and engineering. As CTO, Richard is tasked with identifying, developing and promoting strategic technologies that will help advance Guardian as a premier provider of Risk and Financial based products. Richard joined Guardian in 2006 to help develop customer facing technology strategies in the Group Insurance business. He was named Chief Technology Officer in July of 2007, and has served in that capacity ever since. Richard's role as CTO includes driving the company's technological innovations and strategy, advising on all aspects of technology driven changes, and working closely with Guardian's Senior Executive Team to align technology efforts with Guardian's corporate goals. Richard Scott brings more than 20 years of technical and management experience in Fortune 100 financial services companies such as Merrill Lynch, Prudential, Smith Barney, as well as spending time in smaller, emerging businesses.
