BNY Mellon Launches Workbench Mobile App for iPad

BNY Mellon has launched the Workbench Mobile application for the iPad.

With this application, clients of BNY Mellon Asset Servicign can access a wide range of account investment and performance data, and industry news, regulatory updates and thought leadership. The valuation dashboard permits users to drill down into account valuation changes and chart by manager, asset type, currency, country or security. They can also look up exposure to issuers across accounts and asset classes.

For custody clients who manage cash, they can authorize cash instructions.

“Plan sponsors and investment managers increasingly are using their mobile devices to stay informed, take action and be more productive—no matter where they happen to be,” said Dan Wywoda, head of global product management at BNY Asset Servicing. “From proprietary systems to web-based platforms and now mobile apps, we’re witnessing a revolutionary liberation of data that’s transformed how people do business and how industries like ours need to respond.”

BNY Mellon noted that the application was designed with multiple security functions, including a user ID, password and the mobile device identifier.  The custodian is also already planning enhancements in v. 2, including an iPhone app that can also be used on Droids and newer BlackBerries.
