The website explains how investors can purchase alternatives directly or via registered products. Calculators show the impact adding one or more of these securities to a portfolio.
“An interactive resource such as this can facilitate adviser/client discussions surrounding risk mitigation and portfolio diversification—two top-of-mind issues for investors today,” said Dawn Kahler, director of marketing and communications at the firm.
According to a recent survey Rydex conducted, 19% of advisers used alternatives in 2008 to help mitigate clients’ risk, and 33% plan to increase exposure to these investments.
