Wells Fargo Launches Emerging Markets Fund

Wells Fargo Funds Management has launched a new emerging markets fund, the Wells Fargo Advantage Emerging Growth Fund. To be managed by portfolio managers Brandon M. Nelson and Thomas C. Ognar, the fund will invest in small-cap companies that they believe will grow faster than the market, using a bottom-up approach.

“We believe that identifying and successfully anticipating positive revision patterns is one of the keys to investing in small-cap growth stocks,” Nelson said. “We also want to maintain a proven sell discipline to both provide downside protection and to ensure that the portfolio continues to represent our best ideas in the small-cap sector.”

The fund will be available both to retail investors through a no-load class and to retirement plans, pensions and endowments through an administrator share class.
