Respondents over the age of 55 were found to hold different types of treasures than respondents under the age of 45.

Results found that those under the age of 45 tend to hold more in coin collections, wine, precious jewelry, classic automobiles and precious metals than respondents 55-years-old and older.

Senior money managers of large companies have the highest propensity to own treasure, 14%, while entrepreneurs, professional financial workers and senior managers of small-to-medium-sized enterprises come in second with 11%.

India had the highest percentage, 67%, of assets respondents want to protect so their children and grandchildren can enjoy them. The U.S. fell in the middle with only 35% of assets, with Japan finishing out the list with 21% of assets.

The percentage of people who own collectibles and treasures purely as investment assets differs between collectibles. Fifty-eight percent of respondents own precious metal assets as purely investments, however only 20% own precious jewelry for investment purposes.
