Benjamin Edwards Adds 9 Advisors, 2 Offices

Benjamin F. Edwards snapped up nine advisors and opened two offices as it continues to build out its footprint.

The St. Louis-based firm, which now has 30 offices, opened its third Florida location with an office in Destin and made inroads into Alabama with a new branch in Birmingham. It also added an advisor to its White Plains, N.Y., and Chattanooga, Tenn., location.

The new Birmingham office will be led by branch manager and senior vice president Steven S. Phillips. He has over 20 years of experience, most recently at Wells Fargo. A legacy A.G. Edwards advisor, Phillips came to Wells Fargo in 2008 through a series of mergers.

 He is joined by Thomas Luttrell, who is a member of the Luttrell Financial Group. Luttrell, who has more than 25 years of experience, is also a legacy A.G. Edwards advisor and joins as vice president – investments. They will be assisted by financial associate Ashley Brook.

The other two advisors on the Luttrell Financial Group join in the firm’s new Destin office. James Luttrell Jr., Thomas’ brother, has nearly three decades of industry experience and will be a vice president of the office. He is a legacy A.G. Edwards advisor moving from Wells Fargo.

The third member of the group, Matthew J. Dahlman, also comes from Wells Fargo and moved into financial services three years ago from the hospitality industry.

Also joining in Destin is Nicholas T. Barlotta Jr., an 18-year industry veteran. He is part of the Barlotta Cauley Wealth Management Group comprised of legacy A.G. Edwards advisors Daniel R. Cauley and Nicholas T. Barlotta III all of whom moved from Wells Fargo.

Cauley has almost 25 years of financial services experience and joins as a vice president. Nicholas Barlotta III entered financial services in 2007 after 10 years in the U.S. Air Force. He has been part of the group for four years.

Senior registered financial associates Marti Lohr and Maeve Brennan will be assisting the Destin office.

The firm also added Darrelyn Brennan and Thomas Trivers to existing offices in White Plains, N.Y., and Chatanooga, Tenn., respectively.

Brennan is a legacy A.G. Edwards advisor has has 25 years of experience.

Trivers, a 20-year industry veteran, had spent all of his career at Louisville, Ky.-based brokerage Hilliard Lyons.

Edwards, who founded Benjamin F. Edwards in 2008, is the great-great-grandson of Albert Gallatin Edwards of the A.G. Edwards brokerage firm.

The firm has been successful in recruiting dozens of legacy A.G. Edwards advisors and currently has 118 advisors spread over 31 branches in 17 states.
