Long-Term Funds Hit With $4.58 Billion in Outflows

Outflows from long-term funds totaled $4.58 billion in the week ended July 20, the Investment Company Institute said.

Net redemptions from equity funds doubled to -$6.84 billion, compared to outflows of -$3.44 billion the previous week. Domestic equity fund outflows totaled -$6.53 billion, and international equity fund outflows totaled -$311 million.

Investors also redeemed -$105 million from hybrid funds, after having invested a net $592 million in the funds the previous week.

Bond funds had inflows of $2.36 billion, down from inflows of $5.29 billion the previous week. Taxable bond funds saw inflows of $2.14 billion, while municipal bond funds had inflows of $226 million.
