HighTower Adds 401(k) Practice

HighTower has recruited a 401(k) practice to its network.

The Chicago-based financial services company announced Tuesday that a newly formed firm called Fiduciary Plan Advisors will be joining forces with the HighTower Network and tapping into its service and technology platform.

The Baltimore-based advisory practice was formed by Jania Stout -- previously senior vice president and retirement plan consultant at Hunt Valley, Md.-based PSA Financial Advisors -- to offer 401(k) services to midsize companies.

Stout has spent more than two decades in financial services, including a stint as a retirement plan specialist at Fidelity Investments.

"Jania is a true professional and a very accomplished and distinguished advisor to 401(k) plans," says Mike Papedis, HighTower's national director of business development. "She is a premier advisor in 401(k) services."

Fiduciary Plan Advisors is the fifth practice to join forces with the HighTower Network since it was launched in June 2013. The network is geared toward breakaway advisors who seek independence, rather than a traditional HighTower partnership role, but want to use HighTower's resources in areas like technology, compliance and research.

“Membership in the HighTower Network gives us the infrastructure to support a national footprint and enables us to remain fully focused on addressing our clients’ unique needs as we continue to build our business," said Stout in a statement.
