Former Pershing Director Joins U.S. Wealth

Christian Widen has left his position as a director of Pershing Advisor Solutions to return to the rapidly growing firm where he began his career, Boston-based U.S. Wealth Management, as managing director and head of corporate development.

U.S. Wealth is a network of wealth managers with 15 offices nationally. The firm generated $4.3 million in revenue last year and is on track to increase that number to $7 million this year.

“When you are able to bring senior business development experience from large and diversified financial institutions such as Pershing, JP Morgan and Fidelity, to a challenger brand such as U.S. Wealth Management, it gives you the opportunity to supercharge your experience … and get even more involved with all aspects of an organization’s growth plan,” Widen said in an email.

Widen will lead strategy and execution around the recruitment of independent financial advisory practices, the firm said in a statement. Target practices will include fee and commission-based independent financial advisory firms with approximately $50 million to $100 million in assets under management, which Widen believes have been overlooked by the broader market.

“For me, this move is not about the size of the organization,” Widen said, “but about working with a group that is extremely advisor-centric in terms of culture and operations.”

At Pershing, Widen was responsible for delivered customized solutions to financial advisors on trading technologies, capital markets solutions, portfolio management systems and practice management, and succession planning strategies.  Previously, he held senior roles supporting financial advisors with RBC Advisor Services, J.P. Morgan and Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services.  Earlier in his career he was a branch manager with U.S. Wealth Management’s offices in the Greater Boston area.

“[M]y decision to come full circle in my career and rejoin U.S. Wealth Management is a reflection of how seriously I know the firm takes its commitment to helping advisors grow their businesses,” Widen said. “The bottom line is that US Wealth Management’s platforms and service solutions for advisors are more in demand more than ever, and I’m excited to be a part of it all.”
