Gopi Mattel

Founder & CEO

Gopi Mattel is Co-founder, and CEO for CellarStone, Inc., a San Mateo California-based company that provides consulting services in the area of Sales Commissions, Variable and Incentive Pay. Prior to CellarStone, Mattel began developing software to manage incentive compensation after working at The GAP, where he was tasked with implementing such a system in-house. He founded Again Technologies, Inc/Motiva. in 1995, based on his research into the marketplace for this application solution. Motiva was a pioneering vendor in the business space of Incentive Management including variable pay and sales commissions. Motiva was acquired by Siebel and was adopted as its Incentive Management system.Mattel co-founded CellarStone, Inc in 2000 to address the small and mid-market Incentive Management needs. Mattel as part of CellarStone was also instrumental in helping PeopleSoft designing and developing its first Incentive Management system. Mattel has helped execute the development, marketing and sales of SMB sales commission applications such as QCommission and Easy-Commission.Mattel has more than 25 years of experience in systems and project management, especially as it relates to Incentive Compensation. Mattel boasts a wealth of systems design and project experience. Mattel has conceptualized, designed and built software systems to accommodate the Incentive Compensation needs of various industries. He has in addition, marketed and implemented Incentive Compensation systems for corporations in many different industry segments. Mattel has implemented Incentive Compensation systems for companies such as Allied Signal Aerospace, Clorox, Southern California Edison, Wilsons-the Leather Expert, among others. Mattel has held IT and Business management positions at Citibank, The Gap, HBO & Company. Mattel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and Geography from the University of Madras, Chennai, India.
