Ivan Sotomayor has over 30 years of international experience in auditing, assurance services, consulting, and general accounting issues. Over the years Mr. Sotomayor has worked on various global projects and his reputation has led him to be chief consultant to the World Bank headquartered in Washington, DC. As the World Bank’s advisor, Mr. Sotomayor had directed many projects in financial transparency reporting and audit firms’ quality control monitoring throughout Central and South America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. In addition, Mr. Sotomayor has been engaged by the World Bank in Quality Assurance Projects that involved the preparation and development of a system of quality control and financial statements reviews for audits of public entities on an international scale.In 1991 Mr. Sotomayor formed Sotomayor & Associates, LLP. From its inception, Ivan and his partners have been dedicated to provide accounting services of the highest quality to its clients. Because of their commitment, the firm is now a leading international mid-size CPA firm. Currently there are two offices located in Pasadena, California and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.In 2006, he was appointed technical advisor on accounting and auditing to the US Trade Representative for the US Department of Commerce and to the International Qualifications Appraisals Board, a joint committee of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy and the AICPA to review and recommend reciprocity requests for professional accounting organizations throughout the world and the USA. Mr. Sotomayor is an advisor to the editor of the Journal of Accountancy and has been published in numerous industry journals as well as guest speaker in many global accounting conferences. Ivan attended Golden Gate University in San Francisco and earned his Master’s in Business Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Economics from California State University Los Angeles.
