Jack Albers

Payments Counsel

Jack Albers serves as Payments Counsel at PayPal. His primary responsibility is to advise and partner with the Consumer Product business unit in developing innovative products and services for PayPal’s consumer customers. Jack’s practice covers topics such as federal and state consumer protection laws, state licensing of money service businesses, privacy laws, AML/KYC obligations, and industry standards such as the NACHA Operating Rules. Prior to joining PayPal, Jack worked at the law firm Cole-Frieman & Mallon LLP in San Francisco. Jack also has experience working as In-House Counsel at a small start-up technology company called mCode, which developed medical coding and billing software. He is a regular speaker at conferences on payments-related topics. Jack earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. from the University of Virginia, and he is a member of the State Bar of California. Jack also serves on the Board of Governors of the Human Rights Campaign.
