Jan Postma

CFO

Jan Postma has been with the Museum of Modern Art since 2001 and was named Chief Financial Officer in 2008. Prior to joining MoMA, Mr. Postma worked in investment banking at Merrill Lynch and was a Summer Fellow at Lincoln Center in 2004. He received an M.B.A. as a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School (2005) and a B.A. degree (1999) in economics summa cum laude from Williams College. Mr. Postma is currently pursuing an M.A. in Art History at Hunter College. At MoMA, Mr. Postma oversees an annual operating budget of approximately $120 million and is actively involved in decisions around audience engagement, revenue development, cost-containment, and operational improvement. He has previously lectured on museum finances in the economic downturn and co-authored The Museum of Modern Art in This Century with MoMA Director Glenn Lowry, an exploration of MoMA’s long history of disrupting established paradigms.
