Joseph S. Fichera is the chief executive officer of Saber Partners, LLC and a visiting lecturer in public and international affairs at Princeton University. He also serves as a Senior Advisor to The Williams Capital Group, L.P. an independent securities brokerage, investment management and financial services firm. His areas of expertise include corporate governance, financial markets, capital markets finance and effective regulation. He provides independent expert advice to corporate and municipal finance issuers, investors, regulators and brokerage firms. Fichera�s career has taken him from a Catholic military school to an inner-city Rochester public high school to Princeton to Washington to Wall Street. He has a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from Yale University.With 17 years at major investment banking firms beginning in 1982 as an Associate, his finance includes being an officer at Smith Barney, Harris Upham and a managing director, principal at Bear Stearns in corporate finance. His government positions have included the U.S. Department of Housing and Development and the State Department through the Agency for International Development�s (A.I.D.) Enterprise Funds for Eastern Europe as a Board director. Mr. Fichera has advised the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, Governor of California, Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Securities Division, Attorney General of Hawaii as well as state public utility regulators on over $8 billion in financings for electric market deregulation and environmental compliance. He has been described by The Bond Buyer as a �securities innovator," and was credited with creating highly flexible multi-mode variable rate tax-exempt securities.Mr. Fichera serves on the Advisory Board of Princeton University�s Center for Economic Policy Studies since 1998, the RFK Center for Human Rights Leadership Council and QuestBridge Scholarship Program. He previously chaired Princeton� University's Economics Department Advisory Council under Ben Bernanke. Complementing his business advisory work, he is an author and commentator on corporate governance, economics, finance and politics. His writings have appeared in such forums as The Wall Street Journal, Yale Management Review and Barron�s. Mr. Fichera is also a guest commentator on financial news media, including CNN, Fox, Bloomberg and NPR.
