Rob Barber

Rob joined Merrill Lynch in 1980 and is currently Lead Negotiated Underwriter in the Municipal Syndicate Group. In this capacity, he leads the pricing and the syndicate process on transactions in all sectors of the Municipal market. Prior to his current role, Rob was Co-Head of the Public Finance Group from 2001 to 2005 with responsibility for all Municipal Issuers and was manager of the Municipal Capital Markets Group from 1995 to 2001. This group was designed to bring market-oriented solutions to Merrill’s municipal general market, health care, housing and utility clients. From 1986 through 1995, Rob managed the Municipal Derivative Group where he helped to pioneer the Municipal interest rate swap market. Finally, from 1982 through 1986, Rob served as Manager of the Tax Exempt Money Market Underwriting Desk where he priced and remarketed various variable rate and fixed rate money market products. Mr. Barber holds a B.A. in Economics from Washington & Lee University.
