  • Dr. Wendel is a behavioral social scientist who studies financial behavior, and how digital products can help individuals manage their money more effectively. He serves as Head of Behavioral Science at Morningstar, a leading provider of independent investment research, where he leads a team of behavioral scientists and practitioners to conduct original research on saving and investment behavior. Stephen has authored two books on applied behavioral economics, Designing for Behavior Change and Improving Employee Benefits, and founded the non-profit Action Design Network, educating the public on how to apply behavioral research to product development.  He has two wonderful kids, who don’t care about behavioral science at all.

  • Stephen Solaka is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Belmont Capital Group. Prior to founding Belmont, Stephen was a Director at Dorchester Capital Advisors where he marketed the firm’s fund of hedge funds to institutional and high-net worth investors. Stephen previously advised clients at UBS Private Wealth Management, a division of UBS focused on families with over $10 million in investable assets.Prior to UBS, Stephen was a VP of Equity Derivatives at TD Options, a division of Toronto Dominion Bank. At TD he held responsibility for the firm's media and telecom options portfolio. This involved proprietary trading and market making on over 200 individual equities and sector ETFs. Stephen also held equity, ETF and index option market making positions at Bear Wagner Specialists and Stafford Trading. He was formerly a member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, Chicago Board of Trade and American Stock Exchange.Stephen holds a B.A. in finance from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University

  • Stephen Huxley is Chief Investment Strategist and Founding Partner of Asset Dedication, LLC. A recognized expert in finance, investing and economics, Stephen has more than 35 years of experience researching and applying decision theory to real world problems. His prize-winning research in scheduling led to the development of the Asset Dedication approach, which applies a time and goals based approach to asset allocation. This work ultimately led to the book Asset Dedication: How to Grow Wealthy with the Next Generation of Asset Allocation (McGraw-Hill, 2004), which he co-authored with Brent Burns.Stephen is a tenured Professor of Decision Sciences at the University of San Francisco, where he has taught in the School of Business and Management since 1973. In 1988, Stephen won the National Franz Edelman Award for Outstanding Achievement in Management Science, the highest award given by the profession, for his work in scheduling. He has also received university awards recognizing his achievements in research, teaching and service, and frequently publishes articles in academic journals and presents papers at international conferences. Stephen holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at San Diego and an undergraduate degree in business and statistics from Ohio State University.
