  • Marissa Fox-Foley is senior vice president of advisor marketing at LPL Financial. In this role, she is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of integrated marketing programs and campaigns aimed at increasing the growth and productivity of independent advisor practices as well as institution-based investment programs.\n\nPrior to joining LPL Financial in 2008, Fox-Foley was the vice president of Wechsler, Ross and Partners, a New York-based marketing and brand development agency specializing in the financial services industry. In this role she led numerous engagements with some of the most recognized firms in the industry, including Morgan Stanley, Van Kampen Investments, JP Morgan Asset Management, UBS and many others. She formerly worked for Agency.com, the interactive arm of the Omnicom Group, a leading global advertising, marketing and corporate communication company.\n\nFox-Foley has a Bachelor of Arts in government from Harvard University, and an MBA in marketing from the University of Southern California. She lives with her husband and two children in San Diego. \n

  • Marilyn Mohrman-Gillis has been Managing Director of Public Policy &Communications since July 2008.\nShe develops and oversees CFP Board’s advocacy initiatives to ensure the visibility and credibility of the CFP® certification with legislators, regulators and other policy makers. During her 30-year career in the nation’s capital, Ms. Mohrman-Gillis has built a broad portfolio of advocacy on behalf of the American public for and with regulators and legislators. As Director of Policy and Federal Relations with the National League of Cities (NLC), Ms. Mohrman-Gillis directed policy development, federal advocacy, and grassroots mobilization for the nation’s leading association representing municipalities across the country. She also directed the NLC’s advocacy before Congress and federal agencies on a number of issues, including extensive work with tax and finance policies.\nAs Vice President for Policy and Legal Affairs and General Counsel for the Association of Public Television Stations, Ms. Mohrman-Gillis had extensive legal and regulatory policy responsibilities, supplemented with a key role in strategic planning for the association, its board and member public television stations. As a supervising attorney in the Federal Communications Commission’s Mass Media Bureau, she managed staff attorneys who were responsible for the development of broadcast and cable rules. Marie provides tax consulting and compliance services to family offices, individuals, trusts and estates, and closely held businesses. She also chairs the Philanthropy and Charitable Giving Practice for the firm’s Personal Wealth Advisors Group, wherein she renders tax advisory and compliance services to the firm’s not-for-profit clients, which include public charities, private non-operating foundations, private operating foundations and trade associations, as well as to donors.\nMarie is a frequent speaker before professional groups and has written for various professional publications. She earned her undergraduate degree in Accounting and Management, and her M.B.A. in Taxation, both from New York University.
