Fidelity's Advisor 401(k) Platform Gets Makeover

Fidelity Investments is giving its Advisor 401(k) platform a makeover by adding a host of offerings to improve participation and deferral rates and help investors select a balanced asset allocation.

Automatic enrollment service, a new feature, will allow employers to automatically enroll employees, which will help boost 401(k) participation. To help sponsors address participant asset allocation, the Fidelity Advisors Freedom Fund Cash Conversion service is available to automatically slot participants who do not select an investment mix of their own into funds that align with their retirement date.

Another new service is the Retirement Checkup, which provides employees with an annual snapshot of their financial situation to show how their current retirement strategy is likely to impact available assets at retirement. Retirement Plan Review helps advisers work with plan sponsors to benchmark the components of plan performance and measure whether they are successful in helping participants plan for retirement.
