Spectrem Group announced Wednesday that its Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index rose seven points in December to end the year at 7.

While this is a neutral reading, it is the highest level the confidence index has been at since December 2007, where it stood at 8. Its lowest point this year was in August, when it was -18.

The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index remained unchanged at 8, also neutral territory. Its lowest point this year also was in August, when it was -20.

“Millionaires posted a strong increase in investment confidence in December, brining 2010 to a close at their highest level in three years,” said George H. Walper, Jr., president of Spectrem Group. “With November’s midterm elections bringing a shift in the political climate, America’s wealthiest investors appear hopeful that their lingering economic concerns will ease as we move forward into the New Year.”
