Survey Finds Investors Are at Ease with their Investment Approaches

A telephone survey conducted for Charles Schwab & Co. found that 92 percent of respondents were comfortable with their investment approaches.

The survey by the Harris Poll was conducted April 17 of 417 Schwab customers. The customers had at least $5,000 in equities or placed at least one trade in the past year.

By comparison, 94 percent of respondents felt comfortable with their investment approaches in an April 5 survey. But when compared to the April 5 survey, more respondents in the April 17 survey reported they were seeking advice from their brokers or financial advisors.

Investor confidence in the market's ability to rebound appeared high - 71 percent of the respondents did not make major changes to their investment portfolios during the week preceding the survey. Of the respondents who reported making changes to their portfolios during the week's market downturn, 65 percent reported buying stock.
