In economic news, consumer sentiment increased to 76.4 in April from 76.2 in March, according to the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan’s final reading. And the Commerce Department said economic growth in the U.S. slowed to a 2.2% annual rate in the first quarter, down from 3% in the fourth quarter.
