Meet IMCA’s New Board

The Investment Management Consultants Association appointed Elizabeth Piper-Bach, CFP, as chair of its 2012 board of directors. She leads a slate of four new officers and four new board members for the new term.

Piper-Bach is vice president and chief operating officer for NADA Retirement Administrators, based in McLean, Va., and had been president of Cardinal Wealth Management. Piper-Bach has served on numerous IMCA committees, and had been the organization’s secretary, treasurer and vice president. Piper-Bach has an established track record with industry associations, having been an active member of the Securities Industry Association, the National Capital Area chapter of the Financial Planning Association, the American Bankers Association and the American Bar Association.

 John Nersesian, managing director at Nuveen Investments, based in Wilmette, Ill., was appointed vice chair. Nersesian started serving on IMCA's board in 2006. He serves on the IMCA Wealth Management Committee and as chair of the Advanced Wealth Management Conference task force.

IMCA also named Margaret M. Towle, partner and managing director at HighTower Advisors in Minneapolis, as its treasurer. Towel is editor in chief of the Journal of Investment Consulting, and former chair of both IMCA’s Advisory Council and the editorial board of Investments & Wealth Monitor.

Bruce Curwood, director of investment strategy at Russell Investments in Toronto, becomes board secretary. Curwood joined Russell Investment Group in 1995 as a strategic consultant, and is currently responsible for research, strategy and client service.

The new board members are: Stewart Koesten, a CFP and CIMA holder, who is president of KHC Wealth Management in Overland Park, Ks. Koesten has served on the board of directors of Financial Planning Association, and was chair of the IMCA’s membership committee; John Moninger, an executive vice president for advisory and brokerage consulting services for LPL Financial; David Koulish, senior vice president and chief investment officer at Northern Trust in Vero Beach, Fla.; Kevin Sánchez, a CFP and CIMA holder, a senior institutional consultant with UBS Institutional Consulting in Walnut Creek, Calif.
