Two brothers who formerly worked as advisors at Merrill Lynch, including one who oversaw $280 million in client assets, have moved their family-run practice to Wells Fargo, the firm said.

Kent and Daniel Evans moved to the wirehouse's Woodlands, Texas, branch, where they now operate the family practice as Evans Financial Strategies Group of Wells Fargo, according to the firm. The group was first launched by their father Jeff Evans, who retired from the business in 2008, Wells Fargo says.

Kent Evans previously managed $280 million in AUM while at Merrill Lynch, according to the firm. He began his securities career with Merrill Lynch in 1999, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. Daniel Evans got his industry start at Merrill in 2014, BrokerCheck records show.

A former Morgan Stanley advisor with more than $156 million in AUM recently opened an independent practice with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network in Butler, Pa.
