Jim Layden, formerly a managing director and regional executive for Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management in Los Angeles, was hired as regional manager for Crowell Weedon's Individual Investor Group, according to the spokesman.

Layden will oversee Crowell Weedon's southern region, which includes 12 of the division's branches in California, and work alongside division president Andrew Crowell on different efforts, such as the region's recruitment program. The firm also tapped Layden to serve as an advocate for the branches he oversees, and serve as liaison between branch managers and company leaders.

“Jim is an exceptionally strong addition to our team, and we’re excited to have him on board,” said Crowell. “His leadership and experience are the right fit for us and will help us continue the high caliber of service that D.A. Davidson and Crowell Weedon are known for.”

Layden had been with Deustche since 2010, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, he worked at UBS as a market area manager and regional director for the wirehouse's southwestern and Great Lakes regions. He will report to both Crowell and Michael Purpura, president of the Individual Investor Group.

Crowell will continue in his roles as president of Crowell Weedon and member of the board of directors at D.A. Davidson. Crowell Weedon was acquired by D.A. Davidson in 2013.
