IRI Elects Roth Chairman

The Insured Retirement Institute announced Wednesday it elected Larry Roth chairman of its board of directors.

Roth, president and chief executive officer of AIG Advisor Group, said he is anxious to help continue the IRI's growth plan.

"IRI is growing in a strategic way to best serve the needs of our diverse and expanding membership," Roth said in a statement. "Over the next year, this growth will continue. We will determine and unveil new ways to provide resources to our members, and we will expand our influence with policymakers to achieve the advocacy goals most sought by the financial services industry. Now, more than ever, people understand and value the solutions IRI members offer, and I am eager to expand our reach and even better serve members and their clients."

Roth replaces Lynne Ford, an executive vice president and head of distribution at Calvert Investments Inc., whose term ended Tuesday at the IRI's board of directors meeting. Ford was reelected to serve a term on the board, which ends in 2015.

John Carter, president of Nationwide Financial Distributors was elected vice chairman; Thomas Streiff, executive vice president and retirement product manager for Pacific Investment Management Co. was reelected secretary; and Robert Moore, president and chief operating officer at LPL, was elected treasurer.

Those members are Robert DeChellis, president of Allianz Life Financial Services; Elizabeth Forget, senior vice at Metlife; and Nick Lane, senior executive vice president and president of retirement savings for Axa Equitable.

Cindy Vogl, executive director at UBS Global Asset Management was reelected to the board for a term ending in 2015.
