Calling All Program Managers

Bank program managers have a tough job. They find themselves juggling different agendas and negotiating different corporate cultures between banking and brokerage. They come from different backgrounds—some worked for years as advisors, while others were top lieutenants of a bank president and took on added responsibility—but now they all inhabit a similar land between two factions.

That’s why we set aside one issue each year to highlight the best program managers in the bank channel. We rank the top 20 each May and we are now accepting nominations for this year’s list. As we did last year, we plan to use multiple variables this year and combine them into a weighted average.

Our top program manager last year was Britt Woods from Fifth Third Bank. Having built two programs from the ground up and turning around another, he exemplified the fine line managers walk in an industry that is all about the numbers, yet depends on personal interactions.
