Brown Advisory Appoints 2 Partners

Brown Advisory, an independent investment management firm with $33 billion in assets under management, announced the appointment of Porter Schutt and Bill Dugdale as partners in the firm’s Wilmington, Del., office.

Schutt joins Brown Advisory from Marvin & Palmer Associates, where he was a partner and portfolio manager for emerging markets and domestic large-cap growth equity portfolios. In his new role, Schutt will oversee the Wilmington office and help develop innovative solutions for private clients and non-profits.

Dugdale joins Brown Advisory from a nearly 20-year career at Friess Associates, where he served as CRM and portfolio specialist. He will be responsible for the office’s client service and advisory functions.

The appointments are an effort to strengthen the firm’s global equity expertise and client-centric focus.

“At Brown Advisory, we are always looking for multi-talented professionals who have a client first mentality,” Michael D. Hankin, president and CEO of the firm, said in a statement. “Porter and Bill bring specialized market knowledge and perspective that will benefit our clients in Delaware and across the globe.”
