Former Morgan Stanley Exec Goes to Ziegler

Ziegler has brought in former Morgan Stanley executive Robert Moats to head the firm's wealth management channel.

Moats also was named senior managing director. He boasts over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, according to a statement announcing the hire. In his previous position, he served as executive director and complex manager at Morgan’s Chicago complex, where he oversaw 170 financial advisors and 75 support personnel. His team generated $180 million in annual revenue. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Moats spent time at Citigroup and Lehman Brothers.

“This firm is truly unique, offering both full-service investment and special credit-driven products, all the while providing a responsive, personal touch with its clients,” Moats said in the statement.

Ziegler, a Chicago-based specialty investment bank and full-service broker dealer, currently employs 70 advisors with a total of $4 billion in AUM.
