Independent Advisor Joins Benjamin Edwards

After founding his own financial planning practice in 1983, Thomas Morrison has rolled up his firm, Morrison Financial Services, this year and joined St. Louis-based Benjamin F. Edwards as vice president-investments.

"I loved my years as an independent financial planner because I had the freedom to work with my clients in the manner I thought best," Morrison said. "The great thing about joining Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. is that I don't see that changing."

As part of the Hanson-Fisher wealth management group in Wheaton, Ill., Morrison will continue to work with individuals, families and small business owners.

Morrison has over 30 years of investment experience and worked in public accounting and as a corporate controller before moving into the brokerage industry.

Also joining Morrison is Terry Trauner, who will assist him with client work.

While a spokesperson at the firm said that Benjamin F. Edwards does not have any set goals for how many advisors they would like to recruit, Morrison marks the 14th advisor to join the firm so far in 2012.
