Charles Schwab Corp. announced Wednesday evening that it named Marie A. Chandoha president and chief executive officer of Charles Schwab Investment Management Inc., which is the investment advisor to Schwab and Laudus Funds.

O’Neill began his Wall Street career at L.F. Rothschild & Co. in 1972. At Rothschild, he worked with financial institutions in the firm’s bank service group. By 1984, he was appointed managing director of the group which then had 55 dealmakers.

Northern Trust bought Waterline Partners LLC, a Los Angeles investment advisory firm serving affluent individuals and families.The price of the deal, which closed Wednesday, was not disclosed.
