Michael McGlone is senior director, commodity indices, at S&P Indices. In his role, Mike oversees day-to-day management of the S&P commodity business and the S&P GSCIµ, widely regarded as the leading measure of general commodity price movements and inflation in the world economy. Additionally, Mike authors the monthly publications, Market Attributes: Commodities, highlighting developments in the commodity markets as measured by the S&P GSCI, and Market Attributes: Strategic Futures, monitoring trends in the managed futures market as measured by the S&P Dynamic Futures Index.Prior to joining Standard & Poor¡¦s in 2007, Mike was chief strategist at Lyford Group International Ltd., a global macro hedge fund. Mike began his career at Discount Corporation of N.Y. Futures on the Chicago Board of Trade, and has over 20 years of derivatives trading experience. Mike left the Chicago trading pits in 1993 to become the OTC options trader for Aubrey G. Lanston & Co. Inc, based in New York. He subsequently joined ABN AMRO as Head of North American Futures Research.Mike is a CFA charter holder and certified FRM. Michael S. Mortensen is President and Chief Executive Officer of PNC Investments, the $32 billion, full-service, retail brokerage division of the PNC Financial Services Group. PNC Investments currently offers its products and services through over 800 dedicated financial advisors located in 13 states and Washington, DC.Mortensen joined PNC Brokerage (predecessor to PNC Investments) in 1994 as a Vice President and Market Sales Director. Before being named to his current position in December of 1997, he served as Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager. Prior to joining PNC Brokerage, Mortensen was a Regional Vice President for Essex Corp., the nations largest provider of annuities to banks. At Essex, he was responsible for overseeing the annuity sales program of First Interstate Bank of California. Mortensen began his bank broker\/dealer career in 1989 working first as a branch broker and then Regional Sales Manager for the GNA Securities managed programs at Bank of America and HomeFed Bank.A 21-year veteran of the bank broker\/dealer industry, Mortensen is one of the first individuals to rise from a front-line sales position to become the head of a major bank broker\/dealer. Mortensen is well known throughout the industry, having served on numerous advisory boards and committees. He previously served on the NASD Business Committee, is a past President of the Bank Insurance Securities Association (BISA) and won the BISA Award of Excellence for Executive of the Year in 2006. Mortensen has been a frequent speaker at various industry conferences addressing subjects ranging from sales to compliance and products.A native of Southern California, Mortensen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from San Diego State University. Today, he resides in Pittsburgh has two daughters and is an active supporter of the United Way, the YMCA and is Chairman of the Board of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia.
