  • Kristin Tugman, MS, CRC, LPC currently works for Unum as Director of Health and Productivity Development. Kristin’s work with large corporate customers entails total absence management. The process begins by defining the impact of lost time on the organization and then evolves into the development and implementation of health and productivity, absence management, return to work and stay work policies and programs. Kristin is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. Kristin has been working in the field of vocational rehabilitation since 1997 when she graduated from Georgia State University with a Master of Rehabilitation Counseling degree. Kristin has authored several publications pertaining to the psychological aspects of disability. Her work details a specific cognitive behavioral model to assist individuals in overcoming psychological barriers that prevent a return to productivity. Ms. Tugman continues to actively work on the research and development of techniques that assist individuals with psychiatric and other disabilities in maintaining appropriate function in the competitive work force while pursuing a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

  • Michelle Alberda founded a solo financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. in San Francisco, CA in 2007. She has 11 years of experience in financial planning and in 2004 she received CFP® certificant status. Her main focus is working with women and small business owners. Prior to this, Ms. Alberda utilized her foreign language skills and experience in South East Asia to co-found BMC Resources, a consulting firm in Malaysia, which specialized in government infrastructure projects. Her career highlights also include being the only non-Japanese person employed by Toyota Automatic Loom Works (the parent company of Toyota, Inc.) in Japan during the early 90’s, and collaborating with a team of all Japanese engineers to develop a patent for the automobile air conditioning air compressor.Michelle is the co-founder of SKIRT Network, a networking group for women, and co-author of the Amazon.com bestseller: “SKIRTWorking: How to Network Using SKIRT”.
