Tech Survey: Advisors' favorite tech tools

With all the hype about robo advice automating tasks and saving advisors time, why are adoption numbers so low?

According to Financial Plannings 2019 Tech Survey, just over one in 10 advisors uses a digital investment tool. Even more surprisingly, adoption actually dropped 5 percentage points from last year among wealth managers.

The survey, which queried more than 350 independent RIAs, planners affiliated with broker-dealers and other advisors in the third quarter of 2019 also revealed advisors' top choices for the tools they use to grow their businesses and drive productivity, including the most used planning software, risk analysis tools, CRMs, client portals and more. It appears robos have some catching up to do.

More findings from Financial Planning’s 2019 Tech Survey follow:

Methodology: SourceMedia Research/Financial Planning conducted an online survey of more than 350 financial professionals during September and October of 2019. Qualified respondents offer financial planning services and investment advice. Vendors and service providers are excluded from the survey
