The Hartford Mutual Funds has reopened the Hartford MidCap Fund to new investors. The fund, which currently has slightly more than $1.323 billion in assets, according to Morningstar, will be available to new investors until Aug. 31 or until it achieves net new sales of $300 million, whichever comes first.

Morningstar is now including daily data and analysis on exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in Morningstar Advisor Workstation, an online product at the MorningstarAdvisor.com Web site for investment professionals. The Web site offers reports on more than 40,000 stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, closed-end funds and variable annuity sub-accounts.

Since 1981, Dimensional Fund Advisors of Santa Monica, Calif., has based its investment style on academic research. Earlier this year, the firm decided to try to replicate the success it has had in the U.S. in Europe. Dimensional hired David Salisbury, former chief executive of Schroders, in March to serve as chief executive of DFA Ltd., its London office. In April, Philip Nash joined DFA as marketing director from Barclays Global Investors.
