In an effort to give financial advisers more options and greater flexibility when designing retirement plans for their clients, 401kDirect next week will introduce a new plan including exchange-traded funds and collective investment funds. The new plan will be introduced officially at the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries Summit in Orlando.

Based in Agoura Hills, Calif., 401kDirect offers EFTs, CIFs and 12,000 mutual funds and caters to companies seeking investment advice for their employees. The company offers a Web-based model that encourages those enrolled in their company's plans to manage their own accounts.
