"We've seen tremendous growth at this conference every year, and I think much of that comes from the camaraderie that builds among participants who share ideas and build connections that carry into the rest of the year," said Brian Wallheimer, Financial Planning's editor-in-chief. "If you're new to AI, there are experts and sessions to help you get on the right track. If you're already using AI in advanced ways, you can share that knowledge and find like-minded advisors to have discussions that take you to the next level."
With all that in mind, we put together a list of five things attendees at ADVISE AI 2026 should not miss.
Kitces v. Bruckenstein
Kitces and Bruckenstein are taking the main stage together to cover: "The Great AI Debate: Will AI Elevate or Erode the Value of Advice?" The two will take opposing sides on statements about the future of AI and how it will affect advisors' roles. Two men enter …. Well, they both leave, but not without some thought-provoking debate.
Spend quality time with the experts
Speakers and panelists roam the conference, but we're making sure that many will spend time in the exhibit hall answering questions and guiding AI users though specific questions. Bring a laptop and ask for a demo on vibe coding, or walk through the steps of building agents with those who are already doing so.
Get your (networking) game on
The night before the conference content starts, join fellow attendees for an opening cocktail reception. We're featuring a sports and games simulator, live music, drinks, tacos and plenty of time to meet your peers.
Understand the AI-human interface
Beyond the technical work that AI can do — read documents, take notes, develop financial plans — it can also help advisors become better humans. Brian Portnoy of Shaping Wealth and Erik Allison of Wealth Vision will discuss how AI influences the human side of advice and the value of human capital.
Boost your business with AI-driven growth strategies
Two other can't-miss sessions focus on the promise we've all been told about AI — it will streamline processes, lower costs and help firms scale. Russell's keynote will touch on how advisors can use AI as an organic growth engine, while Advait Kulkarni of Signature Estate & Investment Advisors and Anthony Lancaster of Osaic look at how to measure return on investment and how that will guide AI in the future.
