Advisor Software Debuts goalGetter App for iPad

Advisor Software, a provider of wealth management applications for financial advisors, announced that its goalGetter financial planning application for the iPad is now available for free download from Apple’s App Store.

The goalGetter app helps clients and advisors visualize financial goals such as buying a home, saving for college or planning for retirement with “drag and drop” functionality that allows them to build and test out lifetime savings and investment plans on Advisor Software’s personal financial management website.

After users drag the goal icons onto the savings timeline, the goalGetter application computes the affordability of the plan based on resource inputs. If it’s not affordable, goalGetter tells the user how much more money they need to set aside per month to make it happen. The app also lets users adjust goals to make them better fit their current or expected budgets.

The Walnut Creek, Calif.-based firm said goalGetter also lets users email their data to financial advisors so they can work together to create a more detailed and effective savings and investment plan.

“We’re on a mission to help educate the general public about goal plans and the trade-offs and sacrifices that are necessary to achieve those goals,” Neal Ringquist, President and COO of Advisor Software, said in a statement. “It is vital for financial advisors to have applications like goalGetter…in their toolkits so they can help clients formulate the best ways to prioritize and achieve their personal finance goals.”
