AIM Advisors Announces Changes to Telecommunications Fund

AIM Advisors of Houston, the investment management subsidiary of AIM Management Group, announced a change in portfolio management for AIM Global Telecommunications Fund.

Effective Feb. 5, the fund's management team was to be led by David Barnard. The team includes Bob Kippes, Jon Schoolar, Ken Zschappel, Claude Cody and Paul Rogge. The new team replaces Michael Mahoney, the fund's manager since 1993.

It is anticipated that in June, the fund will expand its investment strategy to include the technology sector, and will change its name to AIM Global Telecommunications and Technology Fund.
