Alleghany Purchases Blairlogie

Alleghany Asset Management of Chicago has purchased Blairlogie Capital Management from Pimco Advisors of Newport Beach, Calif. Blairlogie, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, manages $890 million in assets, primarily in non-U.S. equities. Stuart Bilton, president of Alleghany, said the purchase of Blairlogie gives his firm international investing expertise.

As part of the agreement, two Pimco funds currently advised by Blairlogie will become part of the Alleghany family of funds. These are the Pimco International Developed Fund and the Pimco Emerging Markets Fund, now called the Alleghany/Blairlogie International Fund and the Alleghany/Blairlogie Emerging Markets Fund.
