Alliance Tacks Bernstein Name on Funds, Shingle

Alliance Capital Management announced Thursday it has expanded its partnership with Sanford C. Bernstein and will rename its mutual fund distribution branch, Alliance Fund Distributors, AllianceBernstein Investment Research and Management, effective March 31, along with putting the AllianceBernstein moniker on its domestic mutual funds.

Alliance, which manages $382 billion in assets, said the revamped fund distributor will offer a variety of new funds including growth, value and fixed income. The new brand will be extended to its managed accounts, variable annuities, cash management services and 529s.

"This move further underscores the synergies and strategic vision that are at the heart of the Alliance Capital/Sanford C. Bernstein combination," said John Carifa, president and chief operating officer of Alliance Capital, in a statement. "With the two companies’ traditional investment styles and research expertise, our firm now provides to our retail clientele an unmatched, complete array of distinct investment options."
