Ameriprise Financial launched Active Portfolios last week, designed of portfolios of mutual funds managed on a discretionary basis by professional money managers.

Institutional-quality asset allocation strategies and reallocation of portfolio holdings for an annual asset-based fee are some features of Active Portfolios. They help clients address investment goals while managing risk and limiting portfolio volatility.

Active Accumulation Portfolios and Active Income Portfolios are two portfolios now available.

“We built Active Portfolios to provide another solution to help clients meet their long-term goals," said Joe Sweeney, president, financial planning, products, services, Ameriprise Financial. “Clients have the opportunity to leverage a product that has been developed to use sophisticated computer modeling that is driven by performance and quantitative analysis and not emotion for investment decisions,” he said.
