Bank of the West's wealth management group is gearing up for more business in Nevada now that it has the ability to deliver trust services in the state.
The San Francisco-based bank has named Rebecca MacDonald, a branch manager in Wyoming, market leader for the wealth management team in Las Vegas. She will spearhead efforts to assess the needs of affluent and high-net-worth clients in that market and provide them with access to banking services, retirement planning and portfolio management, the bank said.
In addition, Bank of the West hired a senior trust officer to administer the bank's fiduciary duties on personal trust accounts, estates and agency and guardianship accounts. It also hired a wealth financial advisor to assist clients with their retirement, investment and life insurance needs.
Theresa Le, the senior trust officer, previously led a team of trust administrators at an independent trust company. Maximus Nguyen, the wealth financial advisor, joined Bank of the West from TD Ameritrade, where he was an investment consultant.
"Bank of the West Wealth Management Group's efforts to grow its team in Las Vegas coincides with the bank's recent expansion of trust powers in Nevada," Edward Mora, regional manager for the Wealth Management Group's Southern California and Southwest region, said in a statement. "The build out of the team will enable us to provide affluent, high-net-worth and ultrahigh-net-worth clients with wealth planning, investment management and personal banking services in the Las Vegas region."
