Bank of the West Hires Industry Veteran for Affluent and HNW Offering

Investment industry executive John Morris has joined Bank of the West’s Wealth Management Group as head of its investment products offering for affluent and high-net-worth clients. He was previously a senior executive at Charles Schwab & Co. where he focused on managed account products, support for RIA efforts, and growth of the third-party mutual fund platform, the bank said. Overall, he has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Morris’ new investment team at Bank of the West provides “investment solutions for clients across the bank’s fiduciary, registered investment advisory and brokerage platforms,” according to the bank. In addition, the team is responsible for developing the bank’s existing offering of investment solutions, including non-proprietary asset managers and alternative investments.

“The work that John is leading helps ensure access to knowledge and investment resources that are a key element of the integrated banking and investment solutions we provide our clients,” John Bahnken, head of Bank of the West’s Wealth Management Group, said in a statement.

Bank of the West, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, operates more than 700 retail and commercial banking locations in 19 Western and Midwestern states.
